The aniline point or the mixed aniline point (respectively) allows conclusions about the compounds formed in of mixtures of petroleum products and hydrocarbon solvents.

The Aniline Point is to be understood as the lowest temperature at which a homogeneous solution of equal volumes of the sample and of aniline begins to decompose.
