Unless specifically listed conditions impose restrictions, it is always possible to combine any penetrator with any plunger.

This does not necessarily mean that every penetrator / plunger combination is practical.

In general, the combination is selected to reach a straight overall weight, if possible.

Combining the heavy-weight plungers (18-0046 to 18-0049) with very slim penetrators such as the tapered needle (18-0081) or the bitumen needle (18-0063) requires very careful work and should be avoided whenever possible due to the risk of deformation.
