Scope:

Used to measure the accelerated aging (oxidation) by means of pressurized air and elevated temperature.

It simulates the type of inservice oxidative aging that occurs in binders during pavement service.

Residue from this conditioning practice may be used to estimate the physical or chemical properties of binders after several years of in-service aging in the field.

Suitable for bitumen and bituminous (asphalt) or modified binders.
